Because I have some knowledge about essential oils (I recently became certified as a Level 1 aromatherapist), I find myself overthinking how to come up with a blend. Today I decided to just go through my case and open whatever bottles caught my eye, and PLAY. It helps that I have my essential oil case grouped by note, and then alphabetical. That way I can pick a top note, add a middle and a base, and take a sniff. And I can swap it out with a different note, and sniff again. And, what I came up with I really like! Yuzu (Citrus junos), Galangal Root (Alpinia galanga), and Frankincense (Boswellia serrata). Galangal is part of the Zingiberaceae (ginger) family, but in my opinion, it has a tinge of Eucaluptus, probably because they both have high levels of 1,8 cineole. This blend is slightly calming, so great to use anytime of day or night.
