My friend gifted me with green cashmere socks. They are gorgeous. They are this deep, deep green, almost black. And so soft. Today’s blend is my attempt at capturing how these socks make me feel, but with essential oils. So of course, I am turning to the majestic forest, to the conifers, with Pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens). Adding in Siberian Fir Needle (Abies sibirica) and Sage (Salvia officinalis). This blend helps me reconnect to the outdoors. It reminds me of the Japanese exercise shinrin-yoku, known as forest bathing. In 1982, the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries created forest bathing as a way to encourage its citizens to spend time outdoors - mindfully - by taking in the setting with all five senses. Forest bathing is essentially a meditation using nature as your present-moment awareness. Similarly, when diffusing this blend, see if you can recognize each oil.
