This is the third blend for the friend who is going through a big change, who wanted help feeling grounded and motivated, help with feelings of anxiety and depression, and also sleep support. Black Pepper (Piper nigrum), Laurel Leaf (Laurus nobilis), and Ylang Ylang (Laurus nobilis). Black Pepper is a Top-Middle note, Laurel Leaf is Middle, and Ylang Ylang is Middle-Base. Notes are based on when a scent is perceived and how a long a scent remains. In an essential oil blend, or essential oil synergy, top notes are the first scents we smell and they evaporate quickest. Middle notes are what we smell after the top notes, and form the "heart" of the blend. They evaporate slower than top notes. Finally, Base Notes evaporate the slowest. They provide depth and richness to the synergy.
Emotionally, Black Pepper helps reduce fear that is associated with change, especially when that change is needed to go forth and fulfill our destiny. Laurel Leaf is about achievement and glory. It helps with self-confidence and promotes courage to tackle new challenges. And, for a fun twist I added Ylang Ylang, which is an aphrodisiac (and helps improve outlook).
